Monday - Jesus, Our Savior

"We are sure of this because Christ was raised from the dead, and he will never die again. Death no longer has any power over him. When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God. So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus" (Romans 6:9-11 NLT).

He lived, died, and was raised from the tomb. He now sits at the right hand of God Almighty and lives in the hearts of His followers. Thanks be to God that Jesus was sent to save us from ourselves. Lord God, let us not forget that Jesus died because of our sins. He freely gave His life for each of us. Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow.

Lord, we are so undeserving of your love, but You deem us worthy. Thank You, Lord. Thank You. Amen.

Tuesday - The Beginning and the End

"'I am the Alpha and the Omega—the beginning and the end,' says the Lord God. 'I am the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come—the Almighty One'" (Revelation 1:8 NLT).

Jesus Christ, every day!

Nothing else needs to be said, let's pray together.

Lord, thank You for the wonderful plan that you have laid out for us. You are an amazing God. You are the Almighty One. You are the Creator of all things. You are God. Thank You, Lord, for loving us and saving us from ourselves. Lord, we lift up the sick, the weak, and the lost. May You touch them and meet all of their needs. Lord, we lift up our nation to you and pray that You will bring us back to where we need to be, a Christian nation, founded on Your commandments and Your Word. We pray for our leaders that they will consult You, Lord, for direction for our country and for their lives. We praise You, Lord! Lead us and direct us so that we can be more like You today than yesterday. We pray in Your mighty name and by the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Wednesday - Jesus Upholds God's Law

"Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God’s law will disappear until its purpose is achieved" (Matthew 5:17-18 NLT).

God's commandments are just as true today as they were when He gave them to Moses. Jesus spoke directly to this in Matthew 5:17-18

We are to use the Ten Commandments as a guide to life. Folks, I get excited to think how different our world would be if we, as a nation, would truly live by these words of God. Then after that brief excitement, I come to the reality of how far we have fallen from His Word and the teachings of Jesus Christ.

We have one hope. That one hope is Jesus Christ, our Savior, and King. If you don't know Jesus, now is the time. Don't wait another minute. You never know when this life will end.

Thank You, God, for loving us so much that You gave us a way to Your Kingdom. Amen.

Thursday - Repay Evil with Kindness

"Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good" (Romans 12:21 NLT).

It's so easy to pay back an evil deed with another evil deed. But God tells us not to pay back evil with evil. It doesn't work out well for us when we do that.

Father, help us to be more like Jesus today in how we deal with others. We pray in His mighty name, Amen.

Friday - Great News

"But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners" (Romans 5:8 NLT).

We can always rest on the fact that God loves us. He will never leave us and will never forsake us. He proves that over and over in His Word and His action in our lives.

Today's verse is a perfect example of how much God loves us. He comes to us while we are broken sinners. He doesn't wait for us to get our lives right and then come to us...He comes to us as we are. The even better news is the fact, that though He comes to us as we are, He loves us so much that He will never leave us as we are. In Christ, there is a life change. A change that transforms us, currently and eternally.

Thank You, Lord, for loving us, broken sinners, and claiming us as Your children. Amen.

Saturday - The War Has Been Won

"See, God has come to save me. I will trust in him and not be afraid. The LORD GOD is my strength and my song; he has given me victory" (Isaiah 12:2 NLT).

We should thank God with every breath we take because each breath is a gift.

Are you still fighting battles each day that God has already won for you? He gives each of us, who call Him Father, victory. He provides for all of our needs and gives us the courage to battle life's giants.

So stop fighting the war that has been won.

Thank You, Lord, we praise Your holy name. The battle has been won by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and in His name we pray. Amen.

Sunday - Are We Calling Out for God?

"As Jesus and the disciples left the town of Jericho, a large crowd followed behind. Two blind men were sitting beside the road. When they heard that Jesus was coming that way, they began shouting, 'Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!'

"'Be quiet!' the crowd yelled at them. But they only shouted louder, 'Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!'" (Matthew 20:29-31 NLT).

I look at the two blind men in today's Scripture and think how we. as a nation and also as individuals, need to be calling out for Jesus to have mercy on us. As a nation, we can't seem to get God out of all our schools, government, public facilities, etc., fast enough. We have abandoned God. As an individual, I'm seeing the god of political correctness rule the lives of wonderful people. They are being deceived by the lies and can't see the “forest for the trees.” I pray daily for the eyes of those who are blinded by the deception of this evil and vile world.

So, how do we escape the brokenness of this evil transformation of our nation and ourselves? We escape by filtering everything that we are told by God's Holy Word. The world might say this is right, but when it does, “truth-check” it with God's Word. If the world says this is wrong, check it by God's Word. We must use the only true Guidebook for life that we have.

The other way is to do like the two blind men do in today's Scripture, scream out for Jesus to have mercy. We must get on our knees and cry out for God to direct our nation, our leaders, and ourselves to a life worth living. Scream at the top of your lungs or whisper in solitude, but pray for God to lead us and direct us in all that we do. Prayer and supplication are key means of making changes for God's way and His path.

Also, know this, we might have left God, but God has not left us. He is waiting on us to return to Him so that He might bless us as a nation and as individuals. Please pray. It is an open line of communication to the God of the universe.

Thanks be to God, the One Who is, was and will always be. Amen
