His Infallible Word

“For we cannot oppose the truth, but must always stand for the truth” (2 Corinthians 13:8 NLT).

God's Word. It is truth. It is infallible. It is perfect. It is inerrant. It is our map to life, this life, and everlasting life.

Read it. Study it. Live it. Believe it. There is nothing in this world that is this perfect and true, except God's Word. Thanks be to God!

Lord God, bring us to the point that we will live your Word, every day. Thank you Lord for giving us another day. Help us to live today like the gift that it is. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Tuesday

Praying for Direction

“Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path. I’ve promised it once, and I’ll promise it again: I will obey your righteous regulations” (Psalm 119:105-106 NLT).

Lord, I come humbly before Your Throne to ask that You guide my path, today and forever. I ask this for myself and for all those who read these words. We have all stumbled and struggle with life, we need You Lord and Your direction for our lives. Lord, I ask specifically that you will give me discernment for Your will in my life. I also ask, for all those who are reading this, that you will provide them a clear vision of what you would have them to do. Lord, lead us and direct us in Your perfect ways.

Father God, I also pray for our nation. Our nation is struggling with sin. We have removed You and Your instructions from our lives, our government, and our people. We are struggling as a nation with hate being the main theme for the day. Lord, I lay these requests at the foot of the cross. I give you total control and ask that you meet our needs and Your mighty name be glorified. I pray this in the matchless name of Jesus the Christ. Amen.

Gloom, Despair, and Agony on Me

“Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith” (Galatians 6:7-10 NLT).

In this day and age, we are experiencing many deceptions of the Devil. The world is turning drastically in the wrong direction. During these times, it is easy to throw up your hands and say, I give. Y'all win. I'm tired of fighting the good fight. Many say, well, it's just prophecy being fulfilled, which might be, but does that mean we should throw in the towel? Absolutely not.

Recently, I read that if we “stand for nothing, we will fall for anything.” My friends, that is so true.

In this time of gloom and doom, we must realize that God has placed us here, at this time, to make a difference. We must study the Bible, emulate Jesus, and live the good news in our walk so that we can share that great news. The world is lost, but we (Christ-followers) have been found. Why give up when we can guide another soul into the arms of Jesus so that they might inherit God's Kingdom? Yes, we grow weary, but we are not to give up. We are to fight the good fight until God calls us home. One day, we might hear, “Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together” (Matthew 25:21).

Lord God, thank You for saving us from ourselves. Lead us, Lord, to share the good news with others. Father, may the lost be found. Thank You Jesus! Amen.

Thursday

Why?

“If anyone is ashamed of me and my message in these adulterous and sinful days, the Son of Man will be ashamed of that person when he returns in the glory of his Father with the holy angels” (Mark 8:38 NLT).

Why do most Christians not speak about the saving power and grace of Jesus? Why is it so hard for us to stand up for the One that gave His life for us? Are we not commissioned to go out into the world and make disciples of all we meet? Why aren't we doing it?

I might be able to answer my own question. I submit we have become lazy and we have given in to wanting to be "politically correct." Let's face it, humans don't like to be told that what they are doing is wrong and will have eternal consequences. They turn the tables on us and make us seem like we are the haters and the ones that just don't "get it." Folks, we get it alright.

We understand that those who turn their back on Jesus will have the same thing done to them, by Christ Himself. If we love our spiritually lost friends and neighbors, we must tell them that they are headed for a life in the fiery pit of Hell. It's a hard truth.

We must proclaim the truth. And the truth is, repent and turn to Jesus. Nothing else takes priority over this.

Lord, give us Your heart of love, mercy, and grace to stand on Your Word and truth. Let us be bold in knowing what You have written is true. May we be bold and do that with love. In Christ's name, amen.

Friday

It's Possible

“Jesus looked at them intently and said, ‘Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible’” (Matthew 19:26 NLT).

All by ourselves, we really can't reach our potential. All by ourselves, we will never be what God designed us to be. All by ourselves, we will miss the joy that God has laid out for us. All by ourselves, we MIGHT accomplish huge things, BUT with God, our lives will be complete and full.

Lord God, thank You for your amazing mercy, grace, and love. We thank you for helping us to be the man or woman that you created us to be. We praise you, in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.

Saturday

Acceptance and Restoration

“This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins” (1 John 4:10 NLT).

Wow, it doesn't get any better than being a child of the most high God. We can look near and far but we will never find anyone who loves us more than our God, our Creator. He loves us so much that He accepts us as we are, but because of that love, He will never leave us as we are.

We praise You, Lord God. We come to you broken and You heal us. We come to You undeserving of Your love and You smother us in love. We come to You and You restore us and call us worthy. We come to You in times of blessings and in times of defeat and You open your arms. Lord, You share in our victories and pick us up in our defeats. You are our God who has bestowed your amazing grace each of us. Thank You, Lord. We give thanks, praise, and prayer in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.

Sunday

Plans

“You can make many plans, but the LORD’s purpose will prevail” (Proverbs 19:21 NLT).

So, what are you planning? What are your goals? Are you praying for God to help you achieve your dreams? Are you asking God what He wants you to do? Are you being patient and waiting on God's timing? Do you realize His timing is perfect? God's plan is always best. Go with it!

Father God, lead us to where You want us to be so that we might be a bright light into this dark and dying world. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
