About Engage

Engage exists to provide perspective on culture through the eyes of a Biblical worldview, showing how that worldview intersects with culture and engages it.

We are a team of 20-somethings brought together by a common faith in Jesus Christ and employment in our parent organization American Family Association.

Jim Shempert

Writer For Engage

Jim Shempert is a follower of Jesus Christ, first and foremost.  He’s also a husband and father.  By day, he’s the IT Director for AFA.  But His passion is ministry.  He started a men’s outreach under the AFA umbrella, One Million Dads.

It’s easy to point out America's need of Jesus. The difficult part is reaching the root. The root starts in the home, with strong Christian leadership. With divorce rates over 50% and more than 40% of homes fatherless, how can we expect society to reflect anything but failure?

Jim is one of the older members of Engage, but hopefully you won’t get too many articles about corduroy and the way things used to be.  From Jim, you will get a whole lot of Jesus.
