Dr. Rooney didn’t become a citizen of the kingdom of God until he was 21 years old. One year later he received the call into ministry. He has been in full and part time ministry for 34 years. He came on the AFA staff in June of 2014 serving as AFA’s Digital Media Editor. He also pastors a rural church in NE Mississippi. Dr. Rooney’s passion is digging beneath the easily recognizable outer layer of Scripture and discovering the treasures hidden beneath…and then saying to anyone who will listen, “Come, see what I’ve found in the living Word of God!”
Ray and his wife Jill dated in high school and married shortly thereafter (38 years ago). He and Jill have four grown children and three grandchildren.
