About Engage

Engage exists to provide perspective on culture through the eyes of a Biblical worldview, showing how that worldview intersects with culture and engages it.

We are a team of 20-somethings brought together by a common faith in Jesus Christ and employment in our parent organization American Family Association.

Ashley Gillespie

Writer For Engage

Ashley Gillespie comes to Engage and American Family Association after a short career in elementary education. After spending two years in the public school system teaching third-grade students, Ashley felt the Lord leading her to her current position in customer service with the AFA Store.

She has felt freedom from being surrounded by fellow Christians in the workplace who strengthen, encourage, and uplift her; a very different environment from her former career.

Her passion for teaching young people has not diminished at all. She currently enjoys serving her church as the children’s choir director and preschool Sunday School teacher.

Ashley also loves reading, solving Sudoku puzzles, knitting, crocheting, and other “grandma” activities.  She loves being a wife to her husband of three years, Daniel, as well as being adoptive mother of their fur-son, Bowe.
